The Army Chief led the Coup on Sep 19 2006
General Sondhi Bunyaratkalin, the Army Chief, led a coup and took control of the country. At the same time, the Constitution and the caretaker government have now been dissolved. All the armed forces chiefs went in for an audience with the King around midnight.
Earlier in the evening, Tyrant Thaksin declared a state of emergency and fired the Army Chief.
However, we are waiting to hear whether the Tyrant will be making a speech at the UN General Assembly on Wednesday September 20th or not.
There are Thais who have been staging protests at several locations in New York City, including the front of the UN building and the hotel that the tyrant is staying.
